FIVE COMMUNITY PROJECTS EACH RECEIVE $1,000

The Rotary Club of Red Deer Urban Spirits is excited to announce the first successful applicants to the URBAN SPIRIT Grant Program.

The following organizations were chosen from an outstanding group of applicants to receive $1,000 each to invest in worthwhile projects to make a difference in our community:
  • Soroptimist International of Central Alberta: Mother/Daughter Dream it Be It Conference 
  • Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre: Specialized Equipment
  • Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre: "No Secrets" Education Program
  • Red Deer Native Friendship Society: Cultural Connections Program 
  • The Foundation for Red Deer Public Schools: The Finish Line Program
 
“These projects are ones that will have an impact in our city and have the potential to inspire our community through their successes,” says Stephanie Jones, board member with the Rotary Club of Red Deer Urban Spirits.
 
Recipients of the inaugural Rotary Club of Red Deer Urban Spirits URBAN SPIRIT Grant Program were presented with their $1000 cheques at a club meeting on February 4.
 
This was the first year for the URBAN SPIRIT Grant Program. The next call for applications will be in fall 2020. More information will be shared at urbanspiritsrd.ca and on our Rotary Club of Red Deer Urban Spirits Facebook page.
